Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade is delighted to announce that it will host a special business lunch with a Senior Government Official from the Department of Finance & Personnel in the Canal Court Hotel on Thursday 4th February 2010.

Themed, ‘How will the Assembly help Newry’s Economy in 2010’, this high profile, business networking event will provide the Newry Business Community with its first opportunity to have an in-camera meeting with this influential politician and to listen to how his Department plans to steer the Northern Ireland economy and this region out of Recession.

Ms Orla Jackson, Chief Executive of Newry Chamber of Commerce stated, ‘we are delighted to host this important business lunch for our members and the wider business community. The economic environment continues to be challenging for local businesses, it is therefore vitally important that our business leaders gain an understanding into how the Assembly intends to deal with the current economic situation, possible public expenditure cuts and ultimately plan for economic recovery’.

This event is generously sponsored by Barclays. Mr Adrian Doran, Head of Commercial Banking at Barclays in Northern Ireland stated, ‘Barclays is delighted to support Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade in hosting this important event. There are clearly challenging issues in both the political and economic arenas, and we are sure this will prove to be a very interesting event.’
